Skincare Review: Nature Republic Capture Miracle Total Care – Hibiscus Ampoule and Sheet Mask

Focusing on hibiscus flower extracts, Nature Republic created the Capture Miracle Total Care – Hibiscus Ampoule and Sheet Mask for healthier and clearer skin. Both products have a peptide complex that contains eight peptide components, along with niacinamide and adenosine, to brighten and plump the skin.

Both products feel soothing and relaxing on the skin. The ampoule has a very lightweight and watery consistency, making it easy to use even in the mornings. My oily akin just absorbs this. It’s light but it feels hydrating and nourishing to the skin. The sheet mask , on the other hand, has a heavier consistency. I like to use it after using a mask to nourish and soothe the skin.

As for the results, this immediately plumps my skin and leaves it looking bright and feeling bouncy in the morning. It has helped keep my skin feeling healthy.

Skincare Review: Hanskin Real Complexion Hyaluron Skin Essence, Hyaluron Moisture Mask, and Hyaluron Moisture Cream

I have always admired how K-Beauty brands focus on gentle nourishment and hydration in their skincare. Since both benefits have been my focus since last year, I can’t not try the Hyaluron Collection of Hanskin.

Promising to moisturize and hydrate, the Real Complexion Hyaluron Skin Essence acts as a toner, essence, and moisturizing lotion all in one. Using bio hyaluronate and hyaluronic acid and zostera marina extract. This feels thick at first but it gets lighter when applied on the skin. It sinks in quickly into the skin. It immediately plumps the giving a non-greasy dewy look even after a long day.

The Hyaluron Moisture Mask aims to moisturize, brighten, soothe, and leave the skin glowing with hyaluronic acid, strawberry, raspberry, and french rose water. It also uses a microfiber sheet, thinner than 1/100 of the thickness of a human hair, which claims to retain and hold moisture five times more than cotton fabric. The pink-colored mask is a cute surprise, the essence also has a sweet smell. It fits perfectly, like most korean masks, and I didn’t have a hard time putting it on my face. It leaves the skin feeling hydrated and fresh. It would be a great addition to your routine if you’re looking for extra hydration.

As the last step, the Hyaluron Moisture Cream targets dry or dull skin and promises to leave the skin plump, nourished and moisturized using hyaluronic acid.

This has a watery gel-like formula that feels lightweight on the skin. It doesn’t feel tacky and delivers good hydration as well. I use this day and night, especially when I feel like my skin is dry and dehydrated to leave it smooth and plumper.

The Hyaluron Collection would be great for those who are looking to plump and hydrate their skin. All products are nourishing and gentle so they also work well with exfoliants and acids. The Real Complexion Hyaluron Skin Essence is something I would surely use whatever the season while the Hyaluron Moisture Mask and Hyaluron Moisture Cream are something that would suit my oily skin when it’s cold and dry.

Skincare Review: Whal Myung Skin Elixir, Skin Elixir Mask, and WM5 Hydrating Cream

Dating back to the 1900s, Whal Myung began when the Dong Wha Pharmaceutical Company created a special medicine for the royal family of the Joseon dynasty. Inspired by its 11-herb formula, the brand created the WM1897-P5. The formula contains dried tangerine peel, dries ginger, cinnamon, corydalis tuber, and myristica fragrans to nourish the skin, boost its vitality, and improve overall skin health.

My new favorite hydrating toner, the Skin Elixir has a watery formula that has some weight to it. Its smell, a blend of citrus and cinnamon, feels incredibly relaxing. It feels nourishing to the skin that, sometimes, I skip on the essences during my night routine. If my skin is feeling tight, I also use this in the mornings.

Similar to the benefits of the face toner, I reach for the Skin Elixir Mask when my skin is looking hydration and nourishment. This sheetmask also contains ceramide, argan oil, and lecithin to strengthen skin’s barrier. I like using this after exfoliating or when my skin is feeling sensitive.

The WM5 Hydrating Cream uses the brand’s formula in addition to shea butter, olive-based squalane, and ceramide to hydrate, moisturize, nourish, and strengthen the skin. Similar to the other products, this moisturizer smells fresh and sweet. It has a watery gel texture and a light consistency that feels soft on the skin and sinks in fairly quickly. It works well with my oily skin and has helped to make my skin look plump and soft.

These products, aside from being hydrating, has helped in terms of nourishing and strengthening my skin, making it look healthy. This, honestly, can work for any skin type. For my oily skin, though, these products are best used at night. Nevertheless, they will work for those looking for hydration, moisture, and nourishment.

Brand Overview: Knours

Knours doesn’t subscribe to creating their EWG verified products. Instead, they believe in catering to what the skin needs.

Their Double Duty Mist ($36) can be used in three different modes. If your skin is feeling dry and flaky, shake it before use. Don’t shake it if your skin is feeling sensitive and shake just one when your skin is feeling normal. The bottom layer of this face mist aims to clarify and unclog pores, while the oil-based top layer nourishes and moisturizes, using aloe leaf juice jojoba seed oil, glycerin, and rosa damascena culture extract. For confusing weather that can be either hot or rainy, this could be a skincare staple as it helps balance the skin. On a warm day, this is not hydrating enough for my oily skin. It does, however, feel moisturizing when my skin is feeling a bit dry.

Meanwhile, the One Perfect Cream ($48) is their multitasking solution to keep the skin satisfied, with a balance of hydrating, nourishing, age-defying, and brightening effects by using sweet almond oil, niacinamide, shea butter, and baobab seed oil.

While this moisturizer is effective, it’s also quite heavy, which I already predicted based on its ingredients. With that said, I can still use this at night when my skin is looking for moisture, nourishment, and a bit of brightening.

The Be Kind to Your Skin Mask ($4) promises to relax and revitalize the skin with glucose, fructose, hyaluronic acid, moutan peony root extract, and baikal skullcap root extract that’s soaked in a tencel sheet mask. When you feel that your skin needs a reset, this sheetmask can soothe tired or irritated skin in a flash, returning the lost glow within just a few minutes. This makes it perfect as a quick skincare refresh when you don’t have enough time for a full routine.

These products, I feel like, would work for those who have dry or normal skin that’s looking for moisture and nourishment.

Skincare Review: Dear Packer Black Ginseng Gold Mask and Hydrogel Mask

Now available in Ulta, Dear Packer is a K-Beauty brand that uses ingredients from nature and its products are formulated without tar dyes, artificial fragrances, paraben, mineral oils or TEA.

The Black Ginseng Gold Mask ($30) uses pure gold and black ginseng from Geumsan in Korea to nourish and boost radiance to the skin.

This has a gel-like texture that feels like cool jelly on the skin. It honestly feels so calming on the skin especially after having my skin exposed to humidity and heat. I treat this as a sleeping mask because of its texture. Even though this nourishes the skin, it does not hydrate my skin enough and the mask, when used with thick cream products, tends to sit on top of my skin but it does fulfill its claim of brightening the skin.

What K-Beauty brand would not have a sheetmask? The Black Ginseng Gold Hydrogel Mask ($4) promises to nourish the skin. My oily skin really prefers hydrogel sheets so this is right up my alley. It does nourish the skin and leaves it feeling plump and soft. Since the mask is separated into two parts, it is much easier to fit as well.
