Cult Favorite: Ole Henriksen Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner

The Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner from Ole Henriksen promises to brighten and smooth the skin, reduce the look of dark spots, and target fine lines and wrinkles using glycolic and lactic acids, sandalwood extract, chamomile extract, and licorice extract.

This has that sweet smell that the PHAT Glow Facial has. It’s very watery but leaves a bit of a tacky finish to the skin. It stings when swiped on the skin but it only lasts for a few seconds. A few months of using this, I noticed its refining, smoothing, and brightening benefits to the skin. I have a few bumps at the side of my face and this helped a lot in smoothing those parts of my face. Even though this is recommended for daily use, I only use this two times a week so it took more than a month to see results. If you love Ole Henriksen, this is worth checking out if you want to improve your skin’s texture while brightening and smoothing the complexions.

Skincare Review: Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask and Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub

The products from the Ole Henriksen Balance Collection aims to reduce oil and refine pores without stripping the skin. They sent over their two exfoliators – the Cold Plunge™ Pore Mask and the Pore-Balance™ Facial Sauna Scrub. These products promise to purify and reduce the appearance of pores and mattify the skin without using parabens, sulfates, or phthalates.

Inspired by the cold plunge part of a Scandinavian sauna cycle, the Cold Plunge™ Pore Mask ($36) is a clay mask uses alpine willowherb and snow lotus to soothe, mattify and refine pores. It also has AHA and BHA to help improve the texture of the skin and the brand’s Green Fusion Complex™ and neem seed oil to help replenish the skin.

This face mask smells a bit rubbery mixed with mint. I like that this feels really cooling to the skin (lasts until I have to rinse it) and feels really gentle. It doesn’t tighten or pull the skin as it dries. The fun turquoise color is uplifting as well. It’s creamy and doesn’t completely dry so it requires more water to rinse but I don’t mind it because it leaves my skin smooth, cleansed, and moisturized. This is a great option for those who have normal skin types looking for a detoxifying mask.

The Pore-Balance™ Facial Sauna Scrub ($28) is inspired by traditional Scandinavian spas and uses a blend of AHAs (glycolic and lactic acids) to lift and loosen dead skin cells. It also contains Icelandic volcanic sand, Green Fusion Complex™, and neem seed oil to purify, unclog, minimize the appearance of pores.

This face scrub also smells a bit minty. Again, this feels really gentle even if it contains small beads, which doesn’t feel coarse. I like using this on my nose and chin, where my pores get easily clogged, to purify and cleanse my skin. This leaves the skin soft, bright, and deeply cleansed.

This combination has helped smooth and maintain a blemish-free skin and helps balance the oil production of my face. I have noticed while using these two, that my skin doesn’t get as oily as usual. I still have to blot in the middle of the day but I would only have to use one blotting paper instead of two.

Cult Favorite: Ole Henriksen PHAT Glow Facial

I have had my brush with PHA but I have not fully realized its benefits because I’ve been so happy with my AHA and BHA products.

It wasn’t until I got the PHAT Glow Facial($49) from Ole Henriksen that I got to realize what it can do for my skin. With PHA, this face mask perfect, smooth, illuminate, and plump whiling evening the tone and texture of the skin. The mask also contains nordic birch sap to hydrate and nourish, pink bentonite clay to clarify and renew, chia seed oil to nourish and plump, cotton extract to soften, and extracts of lemon, sugar cane, licorice root, chamomile, and sandalwood to help condition skin.

Like my at-home facial products, I was expecting this to tingle but it didn’t. The mask feels creamy and soft to the skin, almost like a thick moisturizer. Once it dries, the pink hue seems to get absorbed by my pores and transforms into a clear mask that still feels creamy when rinsed. I have been using this product twice a week for the last month and I’ve been happy with the results. So, happy that it has earned a position on my thrice a week masking routine. Aside from helping clear and even my skin, which I can get from my other masks, this makes my skin looks so healthy. After a month of use, I see how it can brighten and plump the skin, making me look I had enough sleep. My skin looks more together, not sallow or dull in some areas. I will continue to use this and check for long-term results but so far, I’m really happy with it.
