Skincare Review: Filorga Global-Repair Cream

Compared to a few years ago, I have noticed my skin isn’t as taut and firm. That’s why I’m also focusing on hydrating and moisturizing my skin.

It’s what also piqued my interest when I found out about the Global-Repair Cream from Filorga. This moisturizer promises to treat devitalized skin.

It has a creamy gel-like texture that sets easily. It never felt greasy when applied and doesn’t leave my face looking and feeling oily when I wake up. It’s gentle and smells really nice too. I’ve chosen to keep this in my stash as it helps restore moisture and hydration to my skin without clogging my pores. I noticed how my complexion felt smooth after every application. My frown lines don’t seem as pronounced and my skin felt firmer. I absolutely like how it leaves my skin extremely soft and plump. It’s a moisturizer that I also use as a sleeping mask whenever my skin needs moisture and rejuvenation.

Cult Favorites: Allies of Skin Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser, 35% Vitamin C Collagen Rebuilding Serum, and Peptides and Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment

Since I love sleep over anything else, my morning routine has to be quick. After showering, I usually just apply a serum, sunscreen, and then proceed with makeup.

Recently, I’ve been using these products from Allies of Skin – focusing on hydrating, brightening, and just keeping my skin healthy in the morning and the results are really something.

To cleanse while nourishing and hydrating the skin, the Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser ($38) uses hyaluronic acid, silk amino acids, safflower oil, moringa oil, ethylated l-ascorbic acid, white tea, lecithin phospholipids, and lactic acid. The runny gel of this cleanser consistency feels gentle on the skin. I use this as a second cleanser and it emulsifies to a milky consistency. It also feels refreshing on the skin. It cleanses the skin without stripping it or leaving a film but my skin is still left soft and moisturized.

The 35% Vitamin C Collagen Rebuilding Serum claims to be the world’s first and only waterless formula with a 35% vitamin c concentration. It also contains superoxide dismutase and glutathione to provide antioxidants while repairing, brightening, and firming the skin. The texture and consistency of this serum are on the oily side, which scared me at first because this is suggested to be used in the morning. My skin, as good a condition it is in now, would look like a greased pan if I use an oily makeup or skincare product. However, this didn’t make my skin oily at all. It dries into a silky texture but it sinks in beautifully in my skin and actually makes my makeup look so good. Like I have plump and soft skin. Deeper results would be brightening and the smoothness. After daily use for almost a month, this made me look radiant and healthy.

Meanwhile, the Peptides & Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment ($109) uses 7 brighteners, 9 antioxidants, and a 16.5% repair complex to boost collagen production while firming and providing radiance to the skin. This feels like a light moisturizer but it sinks in like a serum would – quick and matte. It feels hydrating and nourishing on the skin and it works so well under my makeup and SPF. It makes my skin look plump and soft. Also, this makes my makeup look so good. Like I spent an hour doing my base instead of 10.

After about a month of using these products, I can say that the 35% Vitamin C Collagen Rebuilding Serum and the Peptides & Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment are my favorites. They have been part of my morning routine and have made my skin look healthy, bright, and radiant. They also feel light, hydrating, and nourishing, which my oily skin really needs.

Skincare Review: Jurlique Moisture Plus Rare Rose Collection

I have a penchant for floral scents so products from Jurlique are something I enjoy. So much so that even before I started this account, I already have the Rosewater Balancing Mist – one in my house and one in the office.

They sent over the newly formulated products from the Moisture Plus Rare Rose Collection, which promises to hydrate and rebalance the skin. They all use the jurlique rose flower extract, which is grown and hand-harvested in the brand’s organic farm in the south australian hills

Using dwarf lilyturf root extract, the Moisture Plus Rare Rose Serum ($64) aims to hydrate, restore, smooth, and plump the skin. This has a light but creamy consistency. It feels so silky and luxurious when applied to the skin, which I really enjoy. It has a watery and silky slip and gives off a dewy finish. It does feel a bit hydrating on the skin but I noticed its plumping benefits more.

The Moisture Plus Rare Rose Lotion ($60) uses prickly pear extract to hydrate, soothe, and protect the skin. Similar to the serum, this feels so luxe. It’s lightweight and it feels creamy on the skin but it dries matte. It leaves the skin feeling plump and soft.

Aiming to hydrate, refresh, rebalance, and protect the skin, the Moisture Plus Rare Rose Gel Cream ($60) uses mastic gum. This is one of the lightest feeling gel moisturizers I’ve tried. I think the silky finish adds to it but it just really feels good applying this to my skin. It’s also watery but it dries matte, which absolutely works for my oily skin.

These three products helps in hydrating my skin but what I really like about them is how good they feel when applied. The cloud-like, silky finish feel so good on my skin. They also leave my skin plump and dewy the morning after. On cold nights, I use all three but when my skin is feeling fine, I just use the Moisture Plus Rare Rose Serum and the Moisture Plus Rare Rose Gel Cream in my night routine. They all have that rosy scent, which you know I’m all for.

Cult Favorite: Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream

One of the most hydrating moisturizers my skin has come across, the Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream ($48) from Youth to the People contains kale, green tea, and hyaluronic acid to restore, balance, and condition the skin.

They are not kidding when they said that this moisturizer is made for those with oily skin. It bouncy whipped consistency that feels lightweight. It applies really thinly in the skin and leaves it plump and soft. This is so hydrating that whenever I use it at night, I don’t wake up with oily skin. Just a shiny t-zone and I know a lot of moisturizers can do that. What sets this apart is how it also leaves my skin feels so hydrated and soft even after sleep. This is so lightweight that I can even use this in the morning without worrying if it will clog my pores and make my makeup run.

The Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream has become a part of my everyday routine. I am honestly glad to have come across Youth to the People because their products are not only effective but they also make my skin happy.

This product is vegan, cruelty-free, made with cold-pressed extracts, and is formulated without parabens, phthalates, and dimethicone.

Skincare Review: Bliss Bright Idea Collection

Powered by Vitamin C and Tri-peptide, the new Bright Idea collection from Bliss promises to brighten, plump, and hydrate the skin while boosting its natural elasticity.

The Bright Idea Serum ($27) also contains licorice root extract and glycerin to smooth and calm the skin while protecting it from free radicals. I really enjoy the light and airy consistency of Bliss serums. Like their other serums, this sinks in and leaves a silky finish to the skin after application. Compared to other vitamin c serums, this doesn’t only brighten the skin, it also feels hydrating on the skin.

To smooth, protect, brighten, and revive the eye area, Bright Idea Eye Cream ($24) also contains licorice root extract. This is my first Bliss eye cream. It has a light but creamy to the feel to the skin, which works well with my dry eye area. It feels moisturizing and it sinks in beautifully. A small amount goes a long way and it’s extremely nourishing.

The Bright Idea Moisturizer ($24) also uses green tea extract and plant-derived carbohydrate complex to reinforce the skin’s natural defenses against free radical damage while hydrating the skin. This is really creamy but it feels lightweight once massaged onto the skin. It also has this slightly cooling sensation as you massage it to the skin and it leaves a satin finish.

I like using products with Vitamin C in the mornings and while I have no problems using the Serum and Eye Cream, I found the Moisturizer’s consistency heavier than I would prefer, especially since it’s so warm and humid these days. I have also been reviewing a lot of products with vitamin c and peptides and these products are definitely in the more inexpensive price range so, these are a good option for those looking for brightening, plumping, and hydrating products.
