A new highlighter in my stash us the Kevyn AucoinGlass Glow Face Highlighter. This creamy highlighter in gel consistency is right up my alley. It’s creamy, subtle, and it makes my skin look glowing. it’s easy to apply, whether with fingers or with a brush, and it blends easily with other makeup products. I usually put this by my cheekbones and run my brush all over my face using the leftover product for the glossy finish. The shade I have, Prism Rose, has the warmth that suits my skin. I’m happy to have this as I don’t have a highlighter in this kind of color.

You guys know how much I prefer cream blushes but I have a few powder blush exceptions. I have the shade Sunset of the Kevyn AucoinNeo-Blush and since I’ve been trying out other blush shades, I wanted to try this bright coral shade on my cheeks. Yes, this is in powder form but it applies seamlessly even when I use cream highlighters underneath. It doesn’t highlight my pores and it applies like butter on the skin. The shade is perfect for summer and it suits my medium-toned skin. I love that I feel like I’m getting a variety of shades in one compact, I can either go deeper using the rightmost end more or lighter by using the other end of the compact.
I remember buying my first Perfecting Cushion from Sulwhasoo 4 years ago while I was in the Incheon airport waiting for my flight back home. It’s what I bring to work because it’s compact and it’s liquid, which I prefer overpower foundation when it comes to retouching. So, naturally, seeing the Limited Edition Spring Cushion Compact with its beautiful embroidery is really just an added bonus. I mean, look at how pretty and old school it is. I also love the fact that the embroidery has a cushion underneath as well.

I’m still one of those people who’s more comfortable using a brush to create the base of my makeup. However, I turn to makeup sponges/blenders if I want to use a full coverage foundation that will last for as long as I needed it to.
I have been using the Rose WTR and Splash Beauty Sponge from My Splash Care. Meant to be used together, the Rose WTR contains aloe leaf juice, rosa damascena, witch hazel, and chamomile to hydrate, soothe, and calm the skin. I spray this on the Splash Beauty Sponge before dabbing it on my foundation. The sponger promises to be latex and odor-free and easy to clean while offering to give a natural makeup look. It also claims to contain vitamin e to keep it from drying out.
As with most rose-scent products, the Rose WTR has a rosy smell that’s subtle. It can also be used as a finishing spray and it feels hydrating to the skin. However, I need more hydration when it comes to oily skin so I need to apply other hydrating products when I use this. The Splash Beauty Sponge is a bit hard and rough for my liking. This absorbs more product than most sponges and I also found it a bit difficult to clean. As a preference, I like my blenders and sponges a bit bouncy so it’s easy to apply foundation and so it’s easy to clean.
I’m happy that we’re all about that glow nowadays and of course, Laneige wouldn’t just let it pass. Hence, the creation of the Glowy Makeup Serum.
This serum/primer hybrid promises to lock moisture, boost glow, and extend makeup wearability using ceramide moisture gel, diamond mineral powder, and light-fit prep technology. This feels light a light watery serum, which I like. It also dries matte so, it works for my oily skin. As you can see, it has glitter like specks, which is left on the skin even after the serum dries. The light-reflecting particles provide the glow factor, I think.
With my face, I really have to be precise when I apply this. I prefer a liquid highlighter without specks as it just looks better on my skin. I would gladly use this as a serum, without the specks, though as it’s oh so hydrating. It’s what I always expect from Laneige.
