BareMinerals complexion rescue hydrating foundation stick – like colored water. this is just so hydrating

First Aid Beauty bendy avocado concealer – this is my second tube. that’s how much I like this

Glossier stretch concealer – this is what I always use when I don’t want to put foundation on and just want some really light coverage

Onomie radical setting mist – I like spraying this on my brush before applying foundation. This just makes everything look better

Trestique highlight and perfect multipurpose stick – the subtle glow it gives is my favorite. It’s also so easy to blend.

Kosas 10-second eyeshadow – I love all the colors but supreme just really takes the throne. It’s metallic, high-impact, yet so easy to apply and blend

Ilia Beauty the necessary eyeshadow palette, cool nude – this is my everyday palette. it doesn’t contain the usual neutrals which I really like but it still works in any setting.

Em Cosmetics fine liner brow pencil-thin, sturdy, and pigmented. Everything I need in a brow pencil

Lilah B glisten and glow skin illuminator – the shade b. captivating just gives my skin a healthy glow. I also like using this on my lids for a creamy-looking shimmer

Benefit Cosmetics they’re real mascara – forever and always

Pat McGrath Labs matte trance, flesh 3 – the most pigmented and longest wearing matte lipstick I’ve tried that doesn’t cake or settle between the lines. Flesh 3 is my go-to when going out

Makeup Review: Ilia Necessary Eyeshadow Palette in Cool Nude and Clean Line Liquid Liner in Midnight Express

I don’t really do complicated eye looks because I suck at it but the Necessary Eyeshadow Palette in Cool Nude ($38) from Ilia just looks so gorgeous.

I just love the color story. It has the pinks that I love combined with muted mauves and browns. The shades can be used day or night. The shadows themselves are powdery but feel creamier as applied.

I always use the shade Undo, a matte nude, as a base. The shades Teardrop, a soft lavender gray, and Just, a slate brown, is what I like to use during the day. The shades are all matte and pigmented enough to create a light smokey eye for a subtle yet deeper eye look. I sometimes add Infinity, a taupe bronze, if I want to add some shimmer. For going out at night, I add Overcome, a deep burgundy to deepen the smokey eye look. If I’m feeling festive, I add Unravel, a dark violet shade with a tonal shift, that just looks amazing in the eye because of how it changes color depending on the lighting.

I also like that the compact is small enough to bring everywhere for retouches. It also has a mirror that I use for touch-ups.

To be honest, I am not friends with liquid eyeliners. I am not that good with eye makeup. I couldn’t apply an even cat eye, even a minor wing, to save my life. So, I have very low hopes when I used the Clean Line Liquid Liner in Midnight Express ($28). It has a felt tip and the liner is super black, which I like. It’s easy enough to apply and that’s saying a lot for someone who prefers pencils. I have yet to master an even application but the thin felt tip really helps.

Makeup Review: Ilia Liquid Light, Illuminator, Color Haze, Multi-Stick, and Tinted Lip Conditioner

I love cream-based makeup products. It just looks more natural on my oily skin. So when Ilia sent over some of their cream-based products, I really went to town with them.

I like mixing Liquid Light in Atomic ($42) to my matte foundations for that dewy effect that doesn’t leave my skin oily after a few hours. The lightweight gel-texture doesn’t mess up my makeup. It just provides this glow from within look that I want to have. As a targeted highlight, I use this on the high points of my face and the formula melts into the skin for a subtle glow.

For added dewiness, I use the Illuminator in Cosmic Dancer ($34). It’s in stick forms but it feels really creamy. I find that I can control the highlight precision for this one using a dense brush. This is really subtle as it doesn’t shine or shimmer, it just adds a dewy sheen, making me look glowy. I also like applying this on top of my eye look for that glossy look that doesn’t look too shiny.

For color, Color Haze ($32) is exactly as described. I have the shades Temptation (a warm nude) and Sing (a deep berry). Both are extremely pigmented from the tube but they are easily blended and buildable. It looks like it melts into the skin and offers a flushed look on the cheeks. I reach for Temptation for as its good for every day but I use Sing when I go out at night. When applied on the lips, they are easy to use for when you want to create that bitten look because a dot can already spread some color. I like that they also dry matte and can easily be mixed with each other if I want to.

The Multi-Stick in At Last ($34) is in stick form and can be used on the lip or on the cheeks. It has a slight sheen that works with Color Haze perfectly if I want a rosy shine on top of my cheeks or lips.

For a glossy lip finish that feels hydrating, the Tinted Lip Conditioner feels nourishing to the lips. I like that these are good enough to be used on its own. They look glossy but I like that they have a bit of staying power. They don’t completely slide off after a few drinks of water. The subtle pigment stays on and the balmy consistency is left and doesn’t leave my lips feeling and looking dry. They also brighten my face and even the tone of my lips. Blossom Lady has a pink tint and is almost the same shade as my lips while Jump is a deeper magenta, which I use when I’m going for some boldness.

Ilia offers vegan and cruelty-free products that are also gluten-free and made without silicone.
