Suffering from major period cramps today but decided to put on some makeup. I was hoping feel better (I didn’t) but at least I look good. Anyway, after my skincare routine, I still use with spf because the desk I’ve been using for work us right by a window. Been using the Green Defense from Farmacy Beauty and even though this is creamier than I would prefer, it sinks in quickly into the skin. It dries semi-matte without any white cast, making it a dream to apply before makeup. I usually do spf 50 or higher for everyday but I would go for this when I’m indoors.
New from the Cherry family of Farmacy Beauty, Cheer Up, a brightening eye cream that uses vitamin c from acerola cherry, hyaluronic acid, sacha inchi peptide, and caffeine. Aside from brightening, it also aims to firm, smooth, hydrate, and rejuvenate the eye area.
Cheer Up has a bouncy gel-like texture that is fun to touch. It’s like a soft frosting to cakes. It applies like a thin cream but it feels moisturizing to the skin, especially to my dry eye area. After almost a month of using this, I noticed how this keeps my skin from feeling too dry. It’s also plumping and it does help brighten the eye area. My eye area are natural dark and I have long given up on eradicating the dark circles under my eyes but this does help at least provide a bit of radiance.
Building my lip care routine with these beauties from Fresh Beauty. To be honest, since I have not been using liquid lipsticks that much, my lips have been looking and feeling okay so, I sort of neglected them.
However, getting these Sugar Lip Ritual products made me pay attention to my lips again. After cleansing my face, I exfoliate with the Sugar Lip Polish. I do this twice a week. It feels gentle on the lips, not that abrasive, just enough to provide exfoliation.
At night, before sleeping, I apply the Sugar Lip Treatment Advanced Therapy. It’s not as thick as most treatments, it feels like a normal balm so it doesn’t feel bothersome. It’s on my bedside table so I wouldn’t forget.
In the morning and all throughout the day, I apply to use the Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15. It has a berry tint that can be used alone, especially on days when I’m not wearing any makeup.
After a couple of weeks of use, my lips felt softer and smoother. It made me realize how much attention I should give my lips, not just my skin.
Even though I enjoy the smell of Very Cherry Clean from Farmacy Beauty, the unscented Green Clean ($34) is a nice break. Of course, I like this. Aside from its actual ability to remove dirt, impurities, and just about any form of makeup, I love this because of its solid consistency that forms into a gentle lightweight lather that doesn’t leave a trace when it’s rinsed. This is how I like my cleansing balms to be and based on reviews, a lot of people like it as well.
It uses sunflower and ginger root oils, turmeric extract, moringa extract, and papaya enzymes to remove makeup without stripping or drying the skin, remove impurities, sunscreen residue, and exfoliate the complexion.
What’s the difference between this one and Very Cherry Clean? Green Clean is the no-frills and gentle elder sister. She’s the laid-back cleansing balm that gets the job done. If you do not have other concerns to solve and just want a straightforward makeup remover that doesn’t leave a residue, you go for this one. I believe Very Cherry Clean will work better for those looking for nice-smelling first cleanser with brightening benefits.
I have been trying these new drops from Bliss for more than a month now and I’m so far enjoying the results. The brand launched two serums, the Glow & Hydrate Day Serum ($22) and Renew & Smooth Night Serum ($25), working hand in hand to provide smooth, glowing skin.
The Glow & Hydrate Day Serum contains niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, and vitamin e to replenish, defend, hydrate, improve dullness, and diminish pores and blemishes. The consistency of this is thicker than the serums I usually use in the morning but it works. It applies thin and dries matte making it a good base for my makeup. I usually use niacinamide at night, together with my retinol, so using one in the morning was a total change for me. It was a nice change, however, as this is gentle on the skin and it leaves it feeling soft and looking bright. It didn’t aggravate the oiliness of my skin, it actually managed the oiliness by keeping my skin hydrated.
The Renew & Smooth Night Serum ($25) uses a blend of glycolic acid and polyhydroxy acid, squalene, and fruit acids (sugar cane, lemon, orange, and apple) to dissolve dead skin cells, brighten, smooth, and balance the skin. This has a thicker consistency than the AM serum but it works well with my other products at night. It also feels gentle on the skin and it sinks in quickly as well. It feels soothing to the skin and it doesn’t tingle at all. I like how this leaves my skin plump and glowing the morning after.
Together, these serums have made my skin look healthy. I am really amazed as to how bright and smooth my skin looked after a few weeks of using this. Even my husband commented about it. For the price, the results were so good. What really surprised me is how well both worked for my oily skin. The consistency was just right and I feel like anyone who wants to have smoother, glowing skin can use this. I also like that these serums are cruelty-free, vegan, and are formulated without parabens, phthalates, sulfates, urea, formaldehyde, mineral oil, dea, tea, mea, eta, and dmdm hydantoin.
