Skincare Review: Kat Burki Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm and Vitamin C Intensive Face Cream

Kat Burki aims to bring reimagined skincare products with Applied Nutritional Sciences. Their products are cold processed and are filled with amino acids, plant stem cells, and neuropeptides. They are cruelty-free and are formulated without parabens, petrolatum, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, mineral oils, gluten, synthetic dyes, fillers and binders, sulfates, silicone, and GMO.

The Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm ($65) promises to renew and brighten dull skin, prevent dryness, retain moisture using 15% vitamin c, camu camu berry, gotu kola, and cold processed oils (coconut, sunflower, jojoba, rose hip seed, olive, avocado, and cranberry seed.)

This cleansing balm has a texture of a watery batter that feels really nourishing to the skin. It feels cooling every single time I use it, which adds to the relaxation part. It feels lightweight and gentle on the skin and has an equally refreshing smell. It sort of sinks in as you massage it on your face, making you feel like it’s getting into every pore you have. Upon rinsing, the skin feels soft and smooth. As a matter of preference, I gravitate more to cleansing balms that can easily be rinsed off with water however, I like how this makes my skin feel so I reach for this when I want to rinse off really heavy makeup. I’ve noticed that after using this product, my complexion instantly brightens up which is always a plus.

The Vitamin C Intensive Face Cream ($110) is developed to help lackluster complexion, protect the skin from environmental toxins, improve skin elasticity, and soften and hydrate the skin 15% STAY C, a form of vitamin c from reishi mushroom.

This moisturizer smells sweet. It has a thick consistency and has a whipped texture but applies lightly on the skin. A little goes a long way with this face cream. It doesn’t feel greasy and is absorbed well by my skin. I love how it leaves my face brighter, moisturized, hydrated, and supple after application. Not only did I notice that my complexion improved after about three weeks, but I also never experienced any breakout or irritation while on this.

Brand Overview: Sole Toscana

There are products you like, products that are okay, and products you really enjoy using. The latter was the surprise I got from trying the products from Sole Toscana. Natural, organic and cruelty-free, their skincare products are based on artisanal Italian beauty recipes and practice the seed-to-skin approach.

Their 4-Step Skincare Routine promises to help support natural contours, elasticity and tone daily, while deeply moisturizing, repairing, and protecting skin. These products also contain aloe extract and organic Italian olive essence from the brand’s organic farm in the Italian countryside, as well as a botanical hyaluronic acid to naturally enrich, hydrate and repair the skin.

The Rosewater Wellspring Cleanser is an aloe gel-based cleanser that cleanses and removes makeup using skin-tightening rosewater, brightening rosehip and pore-de-clogging natural salicylic acid. This #gelcleanser feels relaxing when massaged onto the skin. It helps remove excess oil and impurities gently. It might be a bit stripping for dry skin but my #oilyskin likes it. It leaves my skin dry but not tight, cleansed without any residue left behind.

The Neroli Radiance Serum aims to lighten dark spots, smooth skin, and enhance glow using vitamin c, botanical hyaluronan, and neroli. This #serum comes in a light pink color and a watery texture that my oily skin loves. It dries down in a satiny texture and leaves my skin smooth and bouncy after each application. I honestly underestimated this one. I was surprised to find out that in just a week of using this, there is a huge difference in my skin in terms of hydration and brightness. This, combined with my other serums, hydrated my skin so effectively that my oiliness looks more glowy than yucky.

The Espresso Bright Eyes Cream works to banish wrinkles and reduce the appearance of dark circles using espresso extract, pomegranate, and grapeseed. The texture of the eye cream is similar to the serum but feels less watery. I honestly didn’t see its lightening effects but it helps brighten, moisturize, and depuff my under eyes. I like using this in the morning as it has a cooling sensation and it sinks in quickly so it doesn’t take time from my fast get-ready routine.

The Rosehip & Calendula Triple Cream is designed to support natural contours, elasticity and tone, while deeply moisturizing and repairing using calendula, rosehip, and jojoba. This #moisturizer has a battered watery dough texture but spreads really thinly on the skin. It almost feels watery as I massage it. It leaves my skin plump and moisturized after every application. However, it makes my face oily when I wake up in the morning.

The products in this 4-step routine offered my skin hydration and moisture while leaving my skin bright, clear, and glowing. They are some of the most gentle products that I’ve tried that brought results to my usually resistant skin. I have not experienced any irritation or blemishes since I used this. I honestly think these products work so well with my oily skin and all the products that I’m using. They are a great support to my actives and I believe that these would also bring great results to other skin types. I am glad I stumbled upon these products, honestly.
