Skincare Review: So Wiped Tropical Face Wipes, Total Zen Calming Lavender Mousse Cleanser, and No Glow Anti-Shine Stick

One of the first cleansers I have was the foaming facial cleanser from Clean&Clear, that was more than 20 years ago. Now, the band released a new line of products, C&C by Clean&Clear, that fight acne and blemishes while promising to be cruelty-free, gluten-free, vegan, and without oil, paraben, soy, sulfate, and synthetic color.

The So Wiped Tropical Face Wipes ($8) aim to get rid of dirt, oil, and makeup to reveal clean skin with no heavy residue. These face wipes had a faint sweet smell that lasted for hours. I like using this at work, when I’ve been outdoors for way too long and when I need to change my makeup. The cloths are soft and don’t tear easily so for the price and the quality, they do the job easily and inexpensively.

The Total Zen Calming Lavender Mousse Cleanser ($12) promises to provide calming and cleansing qualities.

This feels gentle on the skin and the lavender smell feels relaxing. However, this doesn’t completely remove excess oil. For a cleanser, I would expect to be fully cleansed without the stripping, tightening, and leaving a film.

The No Glow Anti-Shine Stick ($16) claims to absorb excess oil, eliminate shine, and blur pores. One swipe and this literally mattified the oily parts of my face and blurred my pore. Like literally no glow, as the name suggests. It’s an anti-highlighter and I like it. This is matte, too matte so best applied to the t zone area, not all over the face because you will look a bit pasty or sickly. The matte-ness lasts for about four hours. After hour 4, the shine that shows up isn’t the typical oiliness I would get if I don’t use any mattifying products so the effect is still favorable. For me, it’s best applied under makeup as it can remove some foundation if applied over it.

I would recommend Total Zen for those with normal skin type and the So Wiped and No Glow to anyone looking to refresh and mattify their skin. Honestly, for the price tag, and the products being vegan and cruelty-free, everything is worth a try.

Skincare Review: Go-To Skincare Properly Clean, Face Hero, and Lips!

With witty product names and too cute packaging, m Go-To Skincare grabbed people’s attention. They claim, however, that there’s more than what the names and the photos provide. The natural and cruelty-free beauty products they provide also promises to provide effortless yet effective solutions to keep the skin happy and healthy.

A foaming cleanser, Properly Clean ($31) contains new zealand rainwater, sodium cocoamphoacetate, lauryl glucoside, sodium cocoyl glutamate, sodium lauryl glucose carboxylate, sodium chloride, dehydroacetic acid, benzyl alcohol, citric acid, and willowbark extract to reduce moisture loss, condition, clear pores, and shed dead skin cells. This a gentle foaming facial wash that cleanses the skin without stripping it from natural oils. As with most cleansing foams, I like using this in the morning as it’s not drying or stripping. It just provides mild cleansing to them. To be honest, I cannot set this apart from the other foaming cleanser I’ve tried save for the fact that this feels really gentle.

The Face Hero ($45) features 10 botanical and nut oils that promise to provide vitamins, antioxidants, and fatty acids to nourish, lighten dark spots, fine lines and other signs of aging. This product absorbs nicely into my skin and has a very lightweight feel with absolutely no greasy feeling. It feels really nourishing, especially after exfoliating. After a month of use, I was also able to notice the lightening of dark spots and some hyperpigmentation. I would definitely recommend this product for its nourishing and brightening benefits.

As the last step every night, I like putting on a lipbalm. Lips! ($15) contains lanolin to heal, moisturize, and sooth. It also has shea butter, apricot kernel oil, beeswax, sweet almond oil, evening primrose oil, vitamin e, pomegranate seed oil, calendula oil, jojoba oil, and avocado oil to moisturize, soften, nourish, hydrate, soothe, and calm the skin. This balm has a heavy oily texture that’s easily removed by water. I had the flu recently and unfortunately, this didn’t help that much. It easily dries and only provides so little moisture and hydration. Unfortunately, I had to use another balm that offered more moisture and hydration to heal my lips. It performed better when my lips aren’t so chapped anymore. It’s a good everyday option to prevent dryness and chapping.
