Bodycare Review: Jurlique Calming Shower Gel Lavender and Calming Body Lotion Lavender

New to my stash are some body care products from Jurlique.

The Calming Shower Gel Lavender ($26) is a creamy and extremely moisturizing shower gel. It aims to leave the skin soft, soothed, and refreshed using chamomile flower extract, licorice root extract, and rosemary leaf extract. The lavender smell is calming however, even though my skin feels smooth after use it also feels a bit heavy on the skin. I only use this after exfoliating as I like the soothing feeling it gives.

A complete contrast in terms of feel, the Calming Body Lotion Lavender ($39) is creamy but it applies thin. It feels lightweight and it sinks in quickly into the skin, which I really like. It contains macadamia seed, avocado, evening primrose, and lavender essential oil to nourish, rebalance, and protect the skin. It has the same relaxing scent as the shower gel and has the same creaminess. However, this dries matte and doesn’t feel tacky at all. It moisturizes my skin without a greasy feeling. This has been my go-to body moisturizer in the morning since I got it.

Makeup Review: Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss

As a 90s kid, my preference for matte lip colors is just innate. I treat lip glosses as a product you use when you want to have a little fun or when you want to be a little extra.

So, when I saw Kosas recently launches their Wet Lip Oil Gloss about a month ago, I found it cute. When I got the package, I decided to seriously give glosses a try. That’s how me, a matte lip believer ended up bring five lipglosses to my vacation.

During the first few days was a struggle, to be honest. The hybrid lip treatment applied like a gloss, with a bit of heaviness to it. It left my lips feeling sticky and I have to reapply more frequently, which are pain points for me but I don’t have to retouch every hour, which is what I do with other lip glosses.

The wet lip look is what really got me hooked. This left my lips looking fresh and cute, my whole fave jollier and more youthful. The moisturizing benefit, with the gloss containing hyaluronic acid, peptides, and evening primrose oil, also greatly helped with me enjoying this, especially on a -15 degree weather. My lips were never chapped or dry. The color payoff is also commendable as with a few swipes, it was able to provide an even color to my uneven-colored lips.

I use Jelly Fish (clear) as a topper if I want my matte lip colors to have an extra sheen and Bikini Nude (nude) when I want to highlight my nude lipstick. Malibu (pink), Jaws (blood red), and Fruit Juice (magenta) when I want a one-and-done shiny color on my lips. I reach for Jelly Fish and Fruit Juice the most because I just love how it looks on me.

I still prefer the Weightless Lip Color but the Wet Lip Oil Gloss is its fun and moisturizing cousin you just can’t easily ignore, especially on a fun night.
