Bodycare Review: Herbivore Botanicals Jasmine Body Oil and Coconut Body Oil

Trying products made me realize just how much I prefer body oils over creams. I easily sweat so the tackiness cream products give isn’t really for me. I like how body oils moisturize my skin even though it sinks in quickly.

The body oils from Herbivore Botanicals promise to offer concentrated moisture while nourishing and hydrating the skin.

The Jasmine Body Oil ($44) works for glowing and hydrated skin using camellia seed oil, grapeseed oil, and jasmine sambac oil.

Another variant is the Coconut Body Oil ($36) that aims to hydrate and nourish the skin with coconut oil, coconut pulp CO2, orchid extract, and camellia seed oil.

Both oils moisturize my skin. They both feel nourishing and they also helped with my dry patches. I like the Jasmine Body Oil better than the Coconut Body Oil because of its floral scent that just feels relaxing. It just smells amazing, however, it just feels too thick for me. When I use both oils, can still feel it even after a few hours. So, I have relegated using Jasmine Body Oil at night before I sleep to get smoother and softer skin in the morning.

Brand Overview: Lavido Purifying Facial Cleanser, Purifying Facial Toner, Replenishing Facial Serum, Mandarin Aromatic Body Lotion, and Thera Intensive Foot Cream

From the Galilee Valley, the vegan and cruelty-free brand Lavido uses botanicals, herbs, and fruit extracts to develop skincare products. Their products are also created without mineral oil, petroleum, silicones, propylene glycol, synthetic dyes, phenoxyethanol, synthetic alcohol, parabens, PEGs, and SLS.

A cleanser to balance the skin while melting away makeup and impurities, the Purifying Facial Cleanser ($29) contains pomegranate, orange blossom, and propolis. This gel cleanser feels gentle and soothing on the skin. After wash, my face feels smooth, clean, and fresh. However, it packs a strong fragrance which I don’t like.

The Purifying Facial Toner ($24) has similar key ingredients as the cleanser and promises to balance and refresh the skin. Same with the cleanser, this feels gentle on the skin. The solution is contained in a pump bottle and dispenses to form a small mass of bubbles when pumped onto a cotton ball. It leaves the skin smooth and fresh after application. However, this one comes scented as well. It’s not overpowering, but still, the scent is kind of strong for me.

Using pomegranate, lemon myrtle, and mandarin, the Replenishing Facial Serum ($59) aims to plump, retain moisture, and smooth the skin. I use this serum before bedtime to hydrate and nourish the skin. It doesn’t feel heavy and helps me keep my face soft, smooth, and supple especially after it gets absorbed into my skin. Out of all the products, this is my favorite because of how nourishing it feels on the skin.

For the body, the Mandarin Aromatic Body Lotion ($19) contains mandarin oil, orange oil, and bergamot oil to nourish and hydrate. This lotion has a whipped texture that smooths evenly on the skin. It also comes with a refreshing citrus scent. I have dry skin, and use lotion to calm down dryness. This lotion surprisingly doesn’t feel tacky and uncomfortable when applied even when I’m out. It sinks in quickly and feels light. I want a more moisturizing body lotion but this does soften my skin.

The Thera Intensive Foot Cream ($28) is for dry, cracked, or chaffed feet. It contains tea tree, achillea extract, and myrtle oil to soften and condition the skin. This foot cream has the same whipped texture as the body lotion but thicker. It also has a leafy scent to it. I like how it easily melts onto the skin as I massage it on my feet. It does manage to soften and smoothen my foot, especially dry areas like my heels. It also helps to keep it smelling fresh.

Bodycare Review: Tammy Fender Rose Geranium and Tangerine Body Lotion

After a long and tiring day, you just want to take a long bath and put on a luxurious body lotion. Recently, I’ve been using the Rose Geranium and Tangerine Body Lotion from Tammy Fender. The citrusy rose scent felt relaxing, especially because it’s mixed with chamomile. It comes in a big glass bottle that would seem to last me for months. It also has a pump that dispenses product easily. It’s also thick and creamy, which works well with my extremely dry skin, keeping it moisturized and smooth.

Brand Overview: La Gaia Unedited

I have tried a lot of skincare products but I have never heard of products using stones and gems. La Gaia Unedited uses them together with vitamins and peptides.

The Macadamia Exfoliate uses Australian ground macadamia bamboo, chamomile, and vitamin e to refine, polish, smooth, and restore moisture levels of the face and body. This felt really cleansing and it was able to offer instant softening to the skin. The thick cream needs thorough rinsing, though. I like using this as a body exfoliator every weekend.

Their Vitamin C serum promises what other vitamin c serums do. It was light on the face and I didn’t have any problem using it. I used it after cleansing and I didn’t feel the need to use moisturizers because it was enough to keep my face feel soft and hydrated. I also liked its texture! The brightening part, though, took a bit of time compared to the other serums I’ve used.

The Amethyst Cream uses amethyst quartz for its healing and regenerative benefits. The cream also has plant essences, seaweed extracts, butters, and bioactive ingredients to replenish moisture loss, reduce surface pigmentation, and restore radiance and luminosity to the skin. This helps moisturize and soften the skin. It’s perfect for the colder months because it’s thick and hydrating.

Using poly-glutamic acid and copper minerals to rebuild the skin’s pH protective barrier and repair deep dermal damage, the Copper Infuse Gel is soothing to the skin especially after exfoliating and waxing.
