Fragrance Review: Tocca Florence Eau de Parfum and Bagno Profumato

Composed of bergamot, pear, gardenia, and blonde woods, the Florence scent from Tocca smells like cozy spring. Its scent is floral with a certain musk to it.

The Eau de Parfum, expectedly last the whole day. This has a powdery musk that makes it feel like a more sophisticated floral that sets it apart from my set of fragrances.

The Bagno Profumato smells a bit fresher than the fragrance. It has a thick consistency and the gel texture lathers beautifully on the skin. It leaves the skin moisturized and smooth.

Using both the body wash and fragrance together makes the scent lasts longer. I like using both when I need a pick me up.

Skincare Review: Collosol Eau de Lait

A cult favorite, the Collosol Eau de Lait was created in the 1950s. It looks and feels like watery milk that promises to erase makeup and impurities while refreshing and relaxing the skin. It can be used as a makeup remover, as a face and body cleanser, and in the bath.

I used this as a makeup remover. Poured in a cotton pad, it gently removed my makeup. As a face cleanser, this doesn’t lather or emulsify, it just stays on the watery consistency and I like to directly massage it on my face before using a foaming cleanser. I didn’t think it would be able to cleanse my skin and remove makeup but it did. It was able to remove foundation but I needed a cleansing balm to remove eyeliner, mascara, and liquid lipstick. It feels gentle on the skin though and it smells amazing.

Bodycare Review: Beekman 1802 Triple Milk Retinol Bar

Sometimes, you find a product and use it the way it wasn’t intended but love it anyway.

The Triple Milk Retinol Bar from Beekman 1802 ($12) is supposed to be a face cleanser but I used it on my body. This bar uses coconut milk, cow milk proteins, goat milk, and granactive retinoid to exfoliate, hydrate, and moisturize the skin.

Used on my face, this was a bit dehydrating so I used it on my body instead and loved it. My body tends to easily get dry. There are also some bumps on my arms that never seemed to go away. Well, that is until I used this. After a few weeks of use, not only did this softened and smooth my skin, it also flattened the bumps on my arms and lessened the marks and dry patches. It also feels nourishing and gentle. This is by far my favorite out of all the Beekman 1802 products that I’ve tried.

Bodycare Review: Sole Toscana Organic Awakening Gift Set

(PR) Sole Toscana also offers body care products also inspired by the Italian countryside and also created cruelty-free using natural and organic ingredients. Their Organic Awakening Gift Set ($95) consists of Awakening Organic Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Cleanser, and Body Lotion, which all contain cypress, lemon, and mint essential oils. What I liked about this set is the scent. It’s fresh and clean and really does awaken the senses.

The Awakening Organic Shampoo is a plant-derived, organic shampoo promising to wash away product build-up whiles cleansing, strengthening, and fortifying strands with amino acids. The Awakening Organic Conditioner aims to freshen, soften, and add shine to the hair weightlessly.

The Shampoo has a clear runny texture, runnier than most shampoos. Also, it doesn’t lather so, it confused me a bit a first. However, I used this alone at first and noticed that it was able to manage my dry scalp. My scalp didn’t feel itchy and I didn’t notice flakes. My temperamental scalp is dry at first but it would get oily after about 12 hours and this managed that as well. It feels really cleansing so I like using this after using a lot of hair products. The Conditioner, meanwhile, has a whipped texture that doesn’t feel greasy on the hair. Using this, I noticed that after a long day, my scalp isn’t as oily as usual and consequently, my hair didn’t look limp. What I like about these two is that they make my hair volumized and shiny without the limpness and the oiliness.

The Awakening Organic Body Wash is low-foaming cleanser while the Awakening Organic Body Lotion aims to soothe and hydrate the skin.

The Body Wash is thin and light on the skin. It also feels really gentle. As a preference, I like my body cleansers to be more moisturizing. On the other hand, the lotion is quite thick and creamy without feeling heavy. It’s easy to rub in and use it all over my body, and with consistent use notices it really leaves my skin soft and supple.
