Cult Favorite: Holifrog Como Popp-E Renewal Scrubby Wash

I am more of a mask person than a scrub person but trying a lot of products made me appreciate scrubs more. Even though I really prefer masks I find that some scrubs really get when it comes to smoothing and softening my skin. I have tested a few scrubs but have only one in my stash and I’m happy to add the Como Popp-E Renewal Scrubby Wash from Holifrog. It was honestly love at first application.

This face scrub promises to exfoliate while nourishing the skin for a soft, dewy, and polished complexion without redness or irritation. It contains poppy seeds, bamboo stem powder, black currant seed oil, poppy seed oil, vitamin c, vitamin e, apricot kernel oil, borage seed oil, rosehip fruit oil, and astaxanthin.

It has a gel consistency that feels a bit oily but not oilier than I expected. I use this after double cleansing a couple of times a week. Due to the consistency, it almost feels like massaging a creamy, moisturizing mask onto my skin. It’s gentle and even though the poppy seeds don’t melt once it’s massaged onto the skin. I massage it for a few seconds before rinsing and I really like the instant result it gives.

After rinsing, my skin felt smooth and soft but not tight and dry. I have been using this once a week and I just really enjoy the feeling of my skin after each use. I will continue to use this and keep it as it just makes my skin look healthier and clearer. This is honestly my favorite product from Holifrog.

Cult Favorite: Maya Chia Super Couple

Another oil in my rotation is The Super Couple from Maya Chia. It uses a proprietary astaxanthin formula, chia, and essential oils to combat the appearance of dull, tired, aging skin. The Super Couple uses the natural, organic, and wildcrafted ingredients and is not made with parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, PEGs, and SLSs.

Like other face oils I’ve tried before, this face oil is thick and not runny in consistency. Given its texture, the oil can feel slightly heavy on the skin. I honestly have no problem with that since I only use it before bedtime. A few drops of this goes a long way. It does feel a little tacky on the skin, however, and may take a while to dry. Once it sinks into the skin, however, my face feels nourished and hydrated. Sometimes, I skip my moisturizer and just go for this. Other times, I mix in a few drops of the oil to my moisturizer for an added boost of moisture and hydration. Incorporating this into my bedtime routine has helped me achieve a nourished and hydrated complexion. I usually reach for this on days when my skin is looking dull and tired as this sort of wakes my skin up after use.
