Cult Favorite: Holifrog Como Popp-E Renewal Scrubby Wash

I am more of a mask person than a scrub person but trying a lot of products made me appreciate scrubs more. Even though I really prefer masks I find that some scrubs really get when it comes to smoothing and softening my skin. I have tested a few scrubs but have only one in my stash and I’m happy to add the Como Popp-E Renewal Scrubby Wash from Holifrog. It was honestly love at first application.

This face scrub promises to exfoliate while nourishing the skin for a soft, dewy, and polished complexion without redness or irritation. It contains poppy seeds, bamboo stem powder, black currant seed oil, poppy seed oil, vitamin c, vitamin e, apricot kernel oil, borage seed oil, rosehip fruit oil, and astaxanthin.

It has a gel consistency that feels a bit oily but not oilier than I expected. I use this after double cleansing a couple of times a week. Due to the consistency, it almost feels like massaging a creamy, moisturizing mask onto my skin. It’s gentle and even though the poppy seeds don’t melt once it’s massaged onto the skin. I massage it for a few seconds before rinsing and I really like the instant result it gives.

After rinsing, my skin felt smooth and soft but not tight and dry. I have been using this once a week and I just really enjoy the feeling of my skin after each use. I will continue to use this and keep it as it just makes my skin look healthier and clearer. This is honestly my favorite product from Holifrog.

For those wondering, this product is also made without Acrylates, Alcohol (SD alcohol, ethanol, denatured, isopropyl, methanol or ethyl alcohol), Aluminum compounds, Benzalkonium Chloride, BPA, Butoxyethanol, Chemical Screens, Coal Tar Dyes, DEA, Detergent, Dyes, EDTA, Essential Oils, Ethoxylated ingredients, Formaldehyde, Fragrance, Heavy metal, Hydroquinone, MEA, Mercury + mercury compounds, Methylisothiazolinone, Mineral Oil, Palm oil, Parabens, PEGs, Phthalates, Polysorbate, Propylene Glycol, Resorcinol, Silicones, SLES, SLS, TEA, Toluene, and Triclosan.

Skincare Review: Bellflower Coconut Daily Moisture Cream and Idebenone Glowing Face Cream

I have recently been using these two moisturizers from Bellflower a kbeauty brand under the same company of Iunik. They are focused on streamlining the ingredients of skincare products and on using EWG safety grade components.

The Coconut Daily Moisture Cream aims to moisturize and smooth the skin using coconut oil, coconut extract, aloe vera extract, apricot kernel oil, and camellia japonica seed oil. When I applied this to my face, I got a slight hint of coconut, which thankfully dissipated after a few minutes. It has a creamy texture, which, for my oily skin, is suitable for nighttime. The smoothing benefit took a bit of time to be visible but it did help moisturize my skin, especially on the parts that I recently got dry patches.

Promising to brighten and nourish the skin, the Idebenone Glowing Face Cream contains niacinamide, idebenone, propolis extract, and rice extract. This has s similar texture and consistency with the Coconut Daily Moisture Cream. It’s also equally moisturizing. This provides a slight brightening benefit and it feels nourishing to the skin.

These moisturizers are not mind-blowing but I like how nourishing and inexpensive they are. At $15 each, it does the job of moisturizing and nourishing the skin. The packaging is also useful especially when you’re traveling. It’s thin and compact and can easily be brought anywhere.

Makeup Review: Kosas Cosmetics 10-Second Eyeshadow Game Changer Set

I honestly love the 10-Second Eyeshadow from Kosas Cosmetics. For someone who isn’t confident about her eye makeup skills, that’s saying a lot.

These water-based eyeshadows promise to have a fast-drying and crease-resistant formula that offers the high-impact color that stays all day. It’s made with apricot kernel seed oil, rosehip seed oil, jojoba seed oil and are formulated without parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, propylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, and synthetic fragrance.

It’s watery making it easy to apply. You have to act quick, though. As claimed, this is best applied with your fingers and it honestly feels like I’m playing with watercolor while applying them on my eyes. I tried using a brush with this one and found it easier to control using my fingers.

It’s really pigmented and the color on its doe-foot applicator is what transfers to my lids save for Waterfall, which looks a silvery-white shade on my eyes. Compared to other liquid eyeshadows, I like this better because it’s not creamy, it’s not messy, and it’s foolproof. It really works for someone who doesn’t do elaborate eye makeup like me.

I also like the finish. The slight sheen makes it look like I made more effort in the morning. It doesn’t look like I just swiped an eyeshadow once so as not to eat too much of my time. The sheen provides dimension so my simple eye looks and it doesn’t look flat. My favorites are Fahrenheit, a burgundy shade, and Supreme, a glittery gold shade that works on top of all the eyeshadows.
