Skincare Review: Iope Moist Cleansing Whipping Foam, Stem III Ampoule, and Derma Gentle Cica Cream

I am a late Iope adaptor. The k-beauty brand focuses on creating skincare and makeup products based on research and even though I discovered them late, I’m glad I did.

Using fermented water hyacinth flower extract, konjac beads, and papain enzyme, the Moist Cleansing Whipping Foam to clean, refresh, and hydrate the skin.

As someone who has a foaming cleanser bias, this is one of the best I’ve tried. It lathers thickly but rinses without leaving any dirt and oil. It has beads that feel soft and it melts as I massage the cleanser on my skin. With the texture of the cleanser, it would usually result in really dry skin after rinsing but this just leaves the skin feeling plump and soft.

The Stem III Ampoule promises to plump, strengthen, and revitalize the complexion using allantoin, spiraeoside, and peptides.

This ampoule feels a bit heavy but it feels nourishing on the skin. It also plumps and helps firm, which I noticed after about a month of use. I especially like using this after using acids and exfoliating.

To soothe, comfort, and help relieve irritated skin, the Derma Gentle Cica Cream uses madecassoside, panthenol, and cypress tree extracts.

A couple of months ago, my face has been at its most sensitive recently and this moisturizer helped make it better. It’s gentle, creamy yet non-greasy, and smooth to apply all over the face. It also feels lightweight and is quickly absorbed by the skin. I also love how it’s fragrance-free and how I don’t get oily with it. The cream feels really soothing and moisturizing on the skin. I could feel my face getting smoother and softer after applying the cream all over my face.

Skincare Review: Tarte Deep Dive Cleansing Gel, Rainforest of the Sea Radiance Drops, and Baba Bomb

I have also subscribed to the belief that only oily skincare products should only be all or one of these things – lightweight, watery, or gel-like. That products for my skin type should never be creamy. However, since I’m older (and, hopefully, wiser) I have found the truth – my oily skin can use creamy, heavier than usual products. It just all depends on the situation.

The Deep Dive Cleansing Gel, for example, is not the usual cleansing gel I would go for. In fact, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever tried. As per all cleansers, this promises to remove excess oil, impurities, and even waterproof makeup using a blend of algae and marine flower extracts along with allantoin, provitamin b5, indian gooseberry extract, and lavender oil. What sets it apart is its glue-like texture and consistency. Like the kind of glue you play with when you were a kid – sticky and dense. It removes makeup the way I’ve never seen before – lifting them up instead of melting the makeup. It’s very evident as I rinse. All the makeup products I used rose above the water. It’s fascinating. It removes face products but needs a little more massaging when it comes to lip products and eyeliners.

A whipped moisturizer best for cold days if you have oily skin, the Baba Bomb ($39) aims to hydrate, nourish, and moisturize the skin using babassu, avocado, green tea, and plant collagen. This moisturizes and soothes my skin on days when it’s feeling dry and parched. I don’t use this every day, only when my skin is reacting to the drop in temperature. Since this moisturizer is on the heavy side of the spectrum, I only use this on really cold nights.

Promising to be more than just a face oil, the Rainforest of the Sea Radiance Drops ($32) uses algae, marine flower extracts, jojoba oil, maracuja oil, coconut oil, vitamin e, and squalene to hydrate and nourish the skin. It can be used as a highlighting primer, a lip oil, or it can be mixed with the foundation for a radiant finish. It’s a lightweight and runny oil that, for me, works best when mixed with my foundation for natural-looking dewiness that doesn’t look greasy. I like that it doesn’t feel sticky and it sinks in the skin. I have been into because of its runny and lightweight texture, this gives my oily skin a healthy glow even on warm days.

Skincare Review: Instytutum Flawless Hydra Mist and Hydrafusion 4D HA Hydrating Water Burst Cream

After tackling blemishes, oiliness, and congested pores, I’ve been in hydration kick and Instytutum sent over their newest products, which promises to hydrate the skin.

The Flawless Hydra Mist ($45) promises to be a cloudlike face mist that hydrates, smoothes, replenish moisture, and relieves dryness using low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, polysaccharides, provitamin b5, and allantoin. I love the spray of this one, it feels light on the skin as it lets out a fine mist. However, it sprays straight forward instead of enveloping your skin with the product. It lands softly, though but I only use this before applying makeup, not after. I feel that it also works well like this because it sinks in quickly and leaves a certain dewiness to the skin. It’s not as hydrating as I would like so I only use this to supplement the hydrating serum I apply in the mornings.

With four molecular sizes of HA, the Hydrafusion 4D HA Hydrating Water Burst Cream ($65) aims to target the different layers of the skin to replenish water from outside and hold water levels from inside and give the skin improved elasticity and suppleness. It also contains ATP, algin, papaya extract, sea algae, papaya enzymes, tri-peptide, jojoba ester, glycerine, squalene, apricot oil, vitamin e, and provitamin B5 to brighten, smooth, and plump the skin.

I was really excited when I opened this. As seen in the photo, it has a light and watery gel texture that feels light and cooling to the skin. This moisturizer has a lightweight feel to it but is creamy to apply despite its texture. Sadly, I don’t know why but squalene makes my skin oily so I wake up with an oily t-zone whenever I use this. However, I like how this sinks in quickly after application and leaves the skin plump and feeling satiny the morning after I apply it.
