I have taken a penchant for liquid blushes so I was really excited when Em Cosmetics released their Color Drops Serum Blush ($25). I got the shades Pink Nectar, which is a watermelon pink, and Rose Milk, a blush pink shade. The Color Drops Serum Blush promises to provide sheer buildable color that looks dewy and feels lightweight. The blush contain sacha inchi oil, squalene, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin e. They are also vegan, cruelty-free, and are made without gluten.
It has a dropper applicator, which can be a bit difficult to use from time to time. As advertised, the texture and consistency feel like a serum. It’s creamy and easy to blend but the dropper applicator sometimes makes it difficult to get the product out. I would prefer a pump applicator than a dropper, to be honest.
As for the color pay-off, the blushes are pigmented and the color inside the cute bottle is what shows up in the cheeks. Both colors also have a muted tone to it, which I think helps create the natural and subtle look I always go for. They also apply matte so it can go with whatever look I planned for.
Pink Nectar is light and creates bright and radiant looking blush while Rose Milk gives a good, natural-looking flush to my cheeks. I use Pink Nectar when I’m going for a dark lip color or a darker eye look while Rose Milk is good when I want my cheeks to be the focus of my makeup. Both apply dewy but amazingly enough, they don’t make my skin feel or look oilier than usual. They also last longer compared to the liquid blushes I’ve tried. When I go home after work, I still notice a slight flush on my cheeks.
