In my skincare journey, I have tried retinol and enjoyed the results, however, I stopped using it as I didn’t enjoy the textures that I have tried. They were either too oily or too heavy for my oily skin.
Enter the A-Passioni™ Retinol Cream promising to be retinol reimagined. The newest addition to the offerings of Drunk Elephant uses 1.0% vegan retinol to improve the look and feel of uneven skin tone and texture and ward off the damage done from daily exposure to UV rays, pollution or other free radicals. It also has triple peptide blend potent trio of peptides to help firm and strengthen the skin, winter cherry juice extracted from the seeds of the physalis fruit and kale leaf extracts for its antioxidants, passionfruit, apricot and jojoba oils to soothe and moisturize, marula seed to preserve and nourish the skin, xanthophyll to defend against aging environmental and electronic-device emitted high energy visible (HEV) light, and vitamin f to improve skin’s texture and suppleness. This product is formulated without essential oils, silicones, and fragrance.
Since it’s been so long since I tried retinol, I first tried this twice a week before building up my tolerance. First off, this smells like an herbal ointment and feels like a really thin balm on the skin. Its smell and texture feel soothing to the skin and the actual product feels really gentle on my skin. It feels a bit tacky so I use this as the last step of my skincare routine but it dries silky, I just have to wait a while. I like that, compared to other retinol, this doesn’t sting or tingle. It also doesn’t feel clogging to the skin even with its texture. It also doesn’t feel too drying or dehydrating so I don’t need to pile on more products after using this. After a little more than a month of use, I have noticed improvements on the texture of my skin and this has brought firmness I have never noticed in other products. I can’t wait to use this more because it suits my oily skin. This, together with Babyfacial, might just give me skin as soft and as tight as a baby’s butt.
