Brand Overview: Jullai Skincare

I always get excited about k-beauty brands so, when new brand Jullai offered me to test their products, it was an immediate yes.

Jullai uses natural ingredients and the cold-slow brow method. This method claims to help retain the natural ingredients by brewing for 168 hours and to lessen energy consumption. Their products are made free of parabens, sulfates, and artificial fragrances. Jullai has two skincare lines. Super 12 promotes bouncy skin with fruits, plants, algae, and grains like extracts of tomato, cauliflower, sweet almond, blackberry, magnolia berry, bayberry, artichoke leaf, pomegranate, spirulina, sea buckthorn, wintergreen, chia seed, and balloon flower. Super 7, on the other hand, moisturizes the skin with grains like extracts from quinoa, chia seed, oatmeal, flowering quince, pumpkin seed, baobab seed, and linseed.

Their Super 12 Bounce Cleansing Oil uses olive oil, green tea oil, and avocado oil to balance and to remove dirt, makeup residues, and toxins without stripping the skin. It’s one of the lightest cleansing oils I’ve come in contact with. It’s so runny that one pump is more than enough to cover the whole face and remove my makeup. It was able to remove even my long-wearing foundation and my eyeliner, as well as my waterproof mascara even if it feels so gentle. It has a distinct fruity smell and gets into a milky consistency when rinsed with water. It doesn’t leave a residue but also doesn’t strip the skin. It actually leaves my skin feels moisturized without the feel of greasiness.

With its gel-like consistency, the Super 12 Bounce Oil Toner almost feels like a serum. It contains sea buckthorn oil, olive oil, and jojoba oil to hydrate, nourish, tone, and firm skin. It sinks in quickly and is best applied by massaging it onto my face with my hands. Using a cotton pad would require more product. I thought this would leave a tacky feeling to the skin but actually just leaves it soft and plump. It provides an instant bouncy effect to the skin. I use morning and night to help prep my skin and leave it looking healthy and soft.

The Super 7 Moisture Hydrating Gel also has lactobacillus extracts to improve skin immunity and soothe irritation. It has a gel-like texture that adhered to the skin within seconds when I thought it would feel watery. This mineral oil-free moisturizer softens the skin immediately. So much so that it was kind of hard to massage into the skin. With my oily skin, I didn’t mind. I actually like how this dries on the skin and just leaves it hydrated. It has a certain grip to it that leaves a lifting feeling and instantly plumps the skin. I like using this at night before a sleeping mask as this helps make my face glow the morning after.

What I like about the Super 12 Bounce Oil in Mask is it’s so flexible and feels really luxurious with its nano micro front sheet. It also contains shea butter, olive oil, and avocado oil to moisturize the skin. Its essence subtly smells fresh and citrusy. I really like the packaging as the mask is divided, for the top and bottom part of the face, so it’s very easy to use and it doesn’t feel messy when you put it on. The essence feels a moisturizer and left my skin feeling moist and soft. It can leave the skin a bit tacky so, I like using this as the last step of my routine. It provides long-lasting moisture and hydration that doesn’t feel oily on the skin. This is the first time I’ve felt the effect of a mask 24h after I used it and I love it so much.

After a couple of months of using these products, I can say that these all work to moisturize and plump the skin. Those with aging, dry, and normal skin types will enjoy the essence toner and the #sheetmask while those with oily skin types will like the effect and texture of the moisturizer. The cleansing oil, however, would be a good option to gently but effectively remove makeup and will be useful to many.
